Marhand's Bar and Grill inside The Vinoy Resort and Golf Club in St. Pete Beach has added sushi to their menu. Marchand's Sushi Menu is available Tuesday - Saturday 5:00-10:30 and offers a mix of classic and signature sushi rolls. We got to check out Marchand's sushi menu by experiencing a 5 course sushi dinner paired with sake.
Course 1 - California Roll: Krab Stick, Cucumber, Avocado. Paired with Nigori Silky Mild Sake. The California Roll was topped with a sweet chili sauce, I loved the amount of Avocado on this roll.
Course 2 - Tuna Poke: Diced Sashimi Tuna, Scallions, Sesame Seeds and Spun Cucumber. This was the stand out dish of the night for me. Tuna Poke is one of my top 5 favorite dishes of all time. I loved the freshness of the sushi and if the opportunity was given, I could have devoured 5 portions. There was not a sake pairing with this dish as there was no rice to soak up the alcohol :)
Course 3 - The Vinoy Roll: Spicy Tuna, Fresh Guacamole, Roasted Garlic Sliver. Paired with Sho Chiku Bai Premium Ginjo Sake. Guacamole on Sushi!!!
Course 4 - Hamachi Sashimi: Hamachi, Cucumber and Ponzu sauce. The Hamachi was super fresh and the ponzu was a perfect dipping companion. It was a little thick for my personal taste but overall really good.
Course 5 - Owatatsumi Roll: Spicy Tuna, Grilled Pineapple, Teriyaki Eel, Jalapeno, Teriyaki Sauce. Paired with MIO Sparkling Sake. I have never heard of sparkling sake before and am out on a mission to find some.Think champagne and sake had a baby.
