Steakhouse Selections now available on all Carnival Cruiseline ships

While I have been on more than 10 cruises, we always gravitated towards booking on smaller ships and tend to stick with ones we have sailed on previously. For instance, I have been on the Carnival Sensation FOUR times. I know that ship inside and out and could navigate you from the casino to the pool bar blindfolded. One of the downfalls on being on the older vessels is that you don't have as many dining experiences as the newer ships offer. So when my best friend and I got on board the Carnival Sensation a few months ago for our post marathon celebration cruise, I was delighted to learn that Carnival Steakhouse Selections were now available on all ships in the main dining room!
One of the biggest perks while cruising is that your meals are all-inclusive. However, when given the opportunity, I always upgrade for a better dining experience. In my mind, the cruise is already paid for, so why not spend a little extra for an incredible meal. Whenever we find ourselves on a ship which offers dining with an added fee, research is done ahead of time on the selections and we plan out our days accordingly.
Carnival's Steakhouse Selections menu is a $20 surcharge if you choose to upgrade. Your options are between a delicious 9-ounce filet mignon, a 1.5-pound Maine lobster, a 14-ounce New York strip steak, or surf and turf.
The best part of the Steakhouse Selections menu is that it is available in the dining room nightly. It's a great option if you are looking for something different in a familiar setting. When Keri and I decided to do the Steakhouse Selections Dinner, it also happened to be Captains Dinner. While they offered steak that night, we decided to upgrade one of our meals to the Steakhouse Selections 9oz filet mignon and split it. The other got the Captains Dinner lobster tail and we split that. So for $10 each, we had an incredible meal! This upgrade is a no brainer!

Speaking of cruises with added dining experiences, I cannot wait to check out the Carnival Vista which sets sail in 2016. Everything about this ship sounds incredible and the dining selections are never ending! With options like Seafood Shack (pssst Carnival, please have a Lobster Roll available for purchase!), Horizons Restaurant, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Bonsai Sushi (which my friend Amanda claims is the best), The Chefs Table, Ji Ji Asian Kitchen, Cucina del Capitano, Guys Burger Joint, Blue Iguana Cantina, Fat Jimmy's C-Side BBQ, and Red Frog Pub, I would need a week long cruise just to check out the various restaurants and mandatory time on the running track!
most random yet funniest photo on a cruise EVER .

Thank you Carnival for hosting Keri and I on Carnival Sensation. I paid for the Steakhouse Dinner Selections out of my own pocket. All opinions are my own and I was not required to write this review. Photos used in this post are property of Carnival.com
