Save money easily with #WalgreensPaperless Coupons

I am by no means a coupon blogger but I currently live in a world where every penny counts. For those who don't already know, I am in the final stage of wedding planning, less than 7 weeks to go. This month alone, my Mother and I have to shell out a collective $8,000 to pay off vendors....then there is the honeymoon and that is a whole different story. However, I have saved a great deal of money over the past months with big items, such as both of my wedding dresses. my wedding shoes, centerpieces, venue and toasting flutes. While I have a reputation for being a bargain bride, I lack at saving money on day to day, non-wedding related items. I tried to clip coupons for a brief stint and quickly realized I wasn't organized enough. I would lose the coupons I needed and simply confuse myself at checkout.

Then I was introduced to Walgreens Paperless Coupons, a method to clip virtual manufacturer eCoupons. This is a brilliant and simple concept for someone who is disorganized like myself. No need to get the scissors out anymore - you simply login to your Balance Rewards Card via the app on your phone and clip the coupons you want. The coupons are then stored to your balance rewards card and you redeem them when making a purchase, via the App on your phone, your actual rewards card or by punching in your phone number at checkout and the coupon is automatically is applied.
I purchased a few items from Walgreens which were on my shopping list. These items were on sale at Walgreens and had manufactures coupons which I clipped to my account.

When I saw all the yellow tags on Colgate products, I knew instantly I had my "purchase of the day" - Colgate toothpaste and mouthwash. The Optic White brand was on sale for $2.99 with your balance rewards card. There was a $2 manufacturers coupon for each, making them $0.99 each. THEN I got a $2 in register rewards which I used for my next purchase below. I made $1 buying these two items and quickly saw how people become addicted to couponing.

In my second purchase, I bought Tide with Febreeze, which is normally around $6. It was on sale with the balance rewards card for $4.99 and had a $2 off coupon which I clipped to my card. I also used my $2 register reward, making the detergent $0.99.

So if you did your math, I bought Tide detergent, Colgate Optic White toothpaste and mouthwash, for a whopping total of $0.99. This should have cost me over $10!! That's $9 I just put in our honeymoon fund. Or should I say, thank you Walgreens for buying us a glass of wine in Italy!

Anyone with a balance reward card and access to a smart phone or computer could easily have done this as well. All you have to do is make sure you sync your Balance Rewards membership to the Mobile App to get started. Each paperless coupon can only be used once. Once it is redeemed it will be deleted from your coupon list.
