Not only are cruises a ton of fun, they can be cheap (if you stay away from the casino and are in driving distance to a port). Your accommodations and meals are provided. Plus an added bonus - Carnival now offers Cheers Program - a drinking package, where you get 15 drinks a day per person, up to $10 (most of the drinks are under that price). Everyone in your state room must sign up for this program. We will take advantage of this on our next cruise.
We made the decision to get on the boat early, arriving at the Port at 1:00 to board the Carnival Sensation. While this is one of Carnivals older and smaller fleets, this my voyage on the ship. I liked the familiarity of the layout and never had to ask for directions. We instantly changed into our bathing suits and headed up to the pool area. We were all pretty hungry and grabbed a sandwich from the deli to eat out on the pool deck. The deli had a wide variety of sandwiches, both hot and cold and I fail for not getting a photo of my Reuben.
As you can see from the photos, we had strict dress codes from my Matron of Honor, Keri. I did get called out more than once because I didn't get the blue striped memo. While on the cruise, we found two other bacherlorette parties (and about 20 family reunions)!
On our duration of this trip, we spent more time in Carnival Water Works. We rode the slides multiple times and had a blast. It was truly like being a kid again without a care in the world. Carnival Water Works was added since the last time I was aboard the Sensation. It is a great addition.
However, the main pool deck was a lot of fun as well. They had multiple contests - the one shown above was the hairy chest contest. I don't remember laughing so hard.
We drank MANY MANY MANY cosmo's on this trip. Carnivals cosmopolitans are the best ever as they use limoncello instead of triple sec. You have to be careful with these bad boys. One too many and you may find yourself falling on the dance floor.
We opted for a late night dining. This will be my first and last time doing this option. It was a little too late for girls who have been day drinking. By the time we got dinner, things turned a little fuzzy and epic photos like the one above get taken.
Stay tuned for part two: Nassau like a local.
So glad you had a great time! I love Carnival and totally agree with you about the cosmos. Nassau is also one of my favorite parts. Looking forward to part 2. :)
ReplyDeleteYAY! I wish I was back on that ship right now!
DeleteHow fun! I love all the matchy outfits, and the anchor necklaces. It looks like a great time was had! We're thinking of doing another cruise next year, and I know that we will have to definitely look into the Cheers Program! Also, have you done the martini tasting? That is a great time!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was so much fun. Cruises are the best. For the second consecutive cruise, we had all intentions of doing martini tasting. However, with 6 ladies, planning became impossible and next thing I know, it was time to get off the boat. Next time for sure!
DeleteI just love those striped dresses. You guys looked so dang cute!!! And as I was reading this, I seriously tried imagining drunk girls going down those slides..lol.
