runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Schedule

I will never forget two years ago this weekend. In a nervous state of mind, I arrived at Disney to run my very first 5K with my co-worker (now close friend) Nicole. I frequently look back to that day and reflect on how nervous we both were. It goes to show that no matter what level of an runner you are, you will always be nervous for that "first" distance, regardless of how long or short it is. Just like a first date! I barely slept the night before my first 5K in 2012. In fact, I think I got more sleep before my first Full Marathon in 2013. It's hard to believe what both Nicole and I have accomplished since that magical day in 2012.

During 2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend, Nicole and I will participate in every event. The inaugural Glass Slipper Challenge was the first thing we signed up for, two back to back races, a 10K and a half marathon. Then we decided to up the game by signing up for Cinderellas Royal Family 5K, honoring our 2 year race anniversary.

Not only do Nicole and I have a lot to celebrate this weekend, my best friend Keri will be honoring the 2 year anniversary of her first half marathon by participating in the Glass Slipper Challenge! She will be joining me on Friday morning for a weekend full of all things Disney and runDisney. I cannot wait for this fantastic girls weekend! It's not just princesses joining us this weekend either! Villains unite!
