Armour39 Performance Monitor - Never Cheat Your Workout Again!

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Under Armour.

I recently had the opportunity to check out Under Armours new heart rate monitor, Armour39. I am not new to the world of heart rate monitors but am always excited to try a new one out. What I really enjoyed about Armour39 is that it tracks everything you would want to know, for any athlete and any sport - workout duration, heart rate, calories burned, real-time intensity, and WILLpower™. WillPower is the first true measure of an athlete which boils your workout down to a single score of 0.0 to 10.0, based on an algorithm that combines how long you workout, what you did, profile info like gender and weight, and key heart rate measures to give you a single score. Armour39 accounts for every movement you make and tracks your vitals the whole time.

The setup was easy peasy. You download the Armour39 app to your smart phone, create your profile and attach the Armour39 module into the chest strap. Put your chest strap on, connect to bluetoooth and perform a 10 minute assessment. Now you are ready to work out. Select workout and your every move will be tracked. One great thing about Armour39 is that it stores your data even if you’re not close to your phone. When you get back in range, it transmits your info to the App automatically.

I wore Armour39 for the first time during runDisney's Dopey challenge. My first time wearing it was at the Inaugural Walt Disnney World 10k which I participated with my Mom. I also kept the device on unknowing for a while post event while we walked around. This being said, I forgot the chest strap was on. I honestly didn't think about it once and didn't have to adjust it once. It wasn't until I got back to the car that I realized I forgot to take it off. Here is the outfit I work with the device under the shirt.
So for 2:14, I had an average heart rate of 140, peaking at 180 (assuming that is when I ran ahead of my Mom to stand in line for character photo opps). My average intensity was 54% and I had 1155 workout calories, funny as I thought that number was a bit high and my Mom said "That's it!?" At the end of your workout you get an overview, a heart rate summery and intensity layout based on the time of the workout.

As I mentioned above, I forgot about the device being on. You also couldn't tell I was wearing it. It was very comfortable and didn't stick out while wearing it. I did feel like Iron Man upon turning the device on - when the UA symbol lit up under my shirt! This is a great fitness gadget :)
