Over the past year, I have had a very fortunate opportunity to try out multiple running shoes from top brands. I went from owning my first pair of running shoes (Asics Gel Nimbus 13) to owning over 10 pairs of shoes from top brands. I am frequently asked what brand/model I run in and the answer is always the same - it depends on the distance. For long distance, I am a Nimbus girl. For anything less than 6, I change up styles and brands.
I am a shoe hoarder. With my ever growing sneaker collection, this is starting to become a problem for my closet. I came to the sad realization that I have to figure out what to do with the sneakers I no longer wear. This past week, the sneaker gods answered my dilemma when I was asked to become an ambassador for KindRunner.com, a company which is launching on June 1. I believe 110% in what this company is about - check out this short video:
Kind Runner is the only place on the web where runners can trade in their old running shoes for new shoes while receiving expert advice on shoes. Upon trade in, runners receive Kindness Cash Rewards for every shoe they send in. They turn your old shoes over to their shoe donation partners who will provide shoes to those in need. You will receive a credit which you can apply for anything from a sports bra to a new pair of kicks on www.kindrunner.com. PLUS - they have free 3 way shipping, which will allow you to ship your shoes, receive your new product and even return goods if necessary at no cost to you.
So you may be asking yourself, what happens to my old shoes? All of the old running shoes are shipped directly to Kind Runner's shoe donation partner's distribution centers where the boxes and paper are recycled properly and the shoes are sent to to people in need in counties like Haiti and those in Western Africa among others. In some cases shoes are given to people in need in the US. Not to stress if you do not own old running shoes and want to utilize this program to buy your first pair. Kind Runner accepts other rubber soled shoes that are not designed to be worn as dress shoes. For every pair you purchase from kind runner, you can send back an old pair.
Prior to June 1st, you can follow Kind Runner online and for every 500 Facebook ‘likes’, Kind Runner is giving away a selected pair of running shoes to one winner and their running partner of their choosing!
