My Mommy's running Disney!

Hello from Epcot! I am taking my Mom to the Flower and Garden Festival today as part of her Mothers Day week. Here's a photo of us from #epcotinspring 2012:

Speaking of all things Disney and Mom, I wanted to share with her one of her Mothers Day presents. When I signed up for the Dopey Challenge, I knew I would be in for four hellish days. There was no question that I wanted to start the journey with my Mom.

My Mom was never a distance runner but she was an athlete  well before I existed. Growing up, Mom was always active and encouraged me to do the same. She belonged to softball leagues, volley ball leagues and even bowling leagues. Present day, she golfs and stays active with her gym membership and occasional yoga. As a child, my parents made sure we were active kids. By the time I entered elementary school, I was in organized sports. I was a softball girl for 10 years and both parents were my coaches at one point in my life. I also played basketball and soccer. Now I am giving fitness back to Mom by coaching her on her first 5K! She is going to run the Disney Family 5K with me during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. She is very excited and is already talking about which princess she wants to dress up as!

Since this is Mom's introduction to running, she needs to get some clothes. She doesn't want to spend a load on  workout gear so I instantly suggested her to check out #C9atTarget. It's perfect timing too - this Friday, May 17th, C9 by Champion apparel is Buy One Get One 25% off for the family, in stores or online! I suggested these awesome capri's to her since they would be perfect for the gym and early morning runs:

Do your parents inspire you to work out or do you inspire them to keep fit?

  2. Super fun! I'd love to do a race with my mom. She's the one who signed me up for swim team when I was a kid and has inspired me to keep fit all these years.
