The first thing I did when I decided to start this journey into running was getting fitted for shoes.I was told that I had the highest arch ever seen and placed into the Asics Nimbus 13's. I loved those shoes. To the point that I never thought I would have a long distance shoe that came between me and the beloved Nimbus. I ran a hole into the sole and purchased the Nimbus 14.
Enter Saucony Kinvara 4. I was fortunate to get the chance to try out a few pairs of Saucony's, the Virrata and the Mirage 3. I haven't had the chance to review the Mirage 3's yet but the Kinvara 4's magically appeared at my door one day!! I was truly excited beyond belief, photo proof below. Unexpected sneakers and a overly excited cat? Yes please! :)
This box contained the brightest shoes I own to date in the best packaging I have ever seen (Warning! Contents may activate your kickassimus).
I love everything about the Kinvara 4. They are comfortable attention getting shoes that are very light while stable enough for me to run long distances. The Saucony Kinvara 4 has a 4mm drop and was upgraded to the PowerGrid in the heel landing
zone for even smoother transitions and an improved overall ride. The PowerGrid is in the Cortana, my boyfriends current shoe - it is a lighter yet more durable compound than ProGrid, previously used in the Kinvara 3. In
addition to the redesigned upper continuing to utilize FlexFilm for a
lightweight, natural feel in the forefoot and toebox areas Weight: 6.7
oz. / 190 gm.
My boyfriend has been a Saucony runner since day one. The day I was fitted for Asics Nimbus 13, he was fitted for Saucony Cortana. He is currently wearing Saucony Cortana 2. After my first few issues with blisters, Gabe urged me to look at Saucony's due to his success with them but I never wanted to steer away from my beloved Nimbus....I was told they were the only shoes for my high arch. I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to Saucony and couldn't be happier.
The Kinvara 4 is available online and in retail stores for $100. They are amazing shoes and I urge you to try them out! If you purchase the same color I own, Cirton/Black/Pink, you will have a radioactive glow on your shins!! I have seen this all over instagram from other runners and you can see it from the photo above.
A little words of inspiration I found in an evening run through Ybor City, Tampa FL.
I was provided with a pair of Saucony Kinvara 4 for my review. All opinions are my own.
