The best part of living in Ybor City is being able to walk to the amazing restaurants we have in town. We are very familiar with the dining scene, which is why it was a shock to me that I only found out about Carne ChopHouse a month ago. Gabe and I took an afternoon walk and tried Carne out for lunch. I was amazed the second we walked in the door.
The lunch menu is very reasonably priced. I have a weakness for Deviled Eggs and was very happy to see them on the menu at only $5 for a half dozen. They would have been excellent if they weren't ice cold. Not that I like hot deviled eggs, just not ones that are almost frozen.
As soon as I saw a Pork Shoulder Pot Pie on the menu, I stopped reading. To say it was out of control is putting it lightly. Unbelievably amazing. Off the chain. OK you get the idea. This is my new go to comfort food. I must add, it was a very hard decision as Chicken and Waffles are also on the menu, but I am very happy with my choice.
Gabe got the Sirloin Chimichuri. It was also very good. The Chimichuri wasn't as spicy as what we are used to but the steak was one of the tenderest sirloins we've ever tried.
Our lunch was only $25 for two entrees and an appetizer. Very decently priced, beautiful interior and a very nice staff. We will be returning to Carne soon!
Carne ChopHouse will be participating in Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant Week 2012.
